BRUCE “THE DON” FARRINGTON (1936 – 2022)

The Bishop Bruce Farrington Foundation was established in June of 2022 in his honour to continue his legacy of love and service to the Andros Community. Bruce was the founder and operator of Mt. Pleasant Fishing Lodge. He was driven by his passion for the success of young people and education, unselfishly giving his time and resources to ensure the success of countless young Androsians. We deem it only fitting to build on the strong foundation he has so ably laid.

For the past two years, we have provided the two primary schools that he adopted in the Central Andros community (Behring Point Primary and Bowen Sound Primary), with school bags of school supplies for each student at the beginning of the fall semester annually, electronic devices would be a plus. Also, the best-performing student at Central Andros High School has been presented with The Bishop Bruce Farrington Award of Excellence and $1,000 to assist them with educational supplies as they pursue tertiary Education.

We also look forward to implementing Feeding Programmes, Community Development Programmes, and Environmental Programmes, inclusive of taking care of the blue holes, beaches and mangroves.

As Pastor of the Greater Power House Ministry at Cargill Creek Andros for over 40 years, Bishop established a vibrant and successful clothing and feeding ministry. The legacy continues..
